ISO-8859-1 code page

ISO-8859-1 (Western Europe) is a 8-bit single-byte coded character set.
Also known as ISO Latin 1. The first 128 characters are identical to UTF-8 (and UTF-16).

This code page has control characters in the 0000-001F and 007F-00A0 range, some are widely used:

LF: Line feed
CR: Carriage Return
HT: Tab character
NUL: NULL character

Many others control characters are now obsolete (these were previously used for telegraphy).
